Rob Zombie “Excited” About Next Album

By | News, Rob Zombie | No Comments

Renaissance man Rob Zombie is getting ready to begin recording a new album. The album, a follow-up to 2010’s “Hellbilly Deluxe 2”, is to be “the best” material of Zombie’s long and illustrious career so far.
“I feel like this year we’ve really kind of brought the band back to where it needs to be, so I really feel like, even though we haven’t done anything yet, the next record is going to be a special one,” the rocker vowed.
Recording sessions will start as soon as Zombie has a feel of the LP’s vibe.
“I used to really conceptualize albums far in advance. It wasn’t like, ‘Go write a bunch of songs’,” he noted. “We would really plan things out in advance, and that’s sort of what we’re doing now. So I’m excited.” And so are we.

US INDICTS FORMER AIR FRANCE CARGO EXECS

By | News | No Comments
[dcs_p]A US court has indicted two former Air France Cargo executives for conspiring to fix airfreight surcharges and rates.

The US Department of Justice (DoJ), which brought the case to court, claims Marc Boudier (near right), former executive vice-president cargo, and Jean Charles Foucault (far right), former vice-president cargo, sales and marketing, participated in the conspiracy from at least as early as August 2004 until February 2006. They are said to have participated in, or directed the participation of subordinate employees in, meetings and communications to discuss rates for air cargo shipments.

As well as fixing surcharges and rates to and from locations within the US and elsewhere, they are also charged with refusing to pay their customers commissions on surcharges.

Boudier and Foucault face a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a US$1 million fine each. The fine may be increased to twice the gain derived from the crime or twice the loss suffered by the victims of the crime, if either of those amounts is greater than the statutory amount.

A total of 21 airlines and 21 executives, including Boudier and Foucault, have been charged in the DoJ’s ongoing investigation into cargo price fixing. To date, more than $1.8 billion in criminal fines have been imposed and four executives, such as British Airways’ Keith Packer, have been sentenced to serve prison time. Charges are pending against the remaining 17 executives, including Boudier and Foucault.[/dcs_p]

In 2005, David Sullivan, Maurice Bryan Giles, Aaron Beam, and John Sherman consolidated their powers to form RED FANG. They played their first, legendary show on the final night of that year, welcoming 2006 with buckets of sweat and splinters of destruction. Exactly one year later, they were opening for The Melvins and Big Business.

In their previous bands, the members of Red Fang created difficult, complicated, challenging music. With Red Fang, they take a different approach, returning to what initially inspired them to form bands – heavy, exciting, sometimes threatening music that at first appears simple and straightforward, but whose sophistication reveals itself upon repeated listening.

The progenitors were bands like Black Flag, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Slayer, and The Melvins, but there are a crop of contemporary bands that exhibit the same inspirational combination of heaviness, deceptive simplicity, and catchiness – Hot Snakes, Big Business, The Melvins, and QOTSA.

It is Red Fang’s goal to create music that, as writer Lance Chess describes, “appeals to both the thinking and the banging head.”
